What is AltSeason Index
“Altcoin season” is a time period when the prices of most altcoins rise more than Bitcoin as a percentage. Altcoins are referred to as alternative cryptocurrencies (coins), that is, any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin.

Period of the AltSeason
The word “season” implies a period of 90 days.
Altseason index calculation base
To calculate the AltSeason Index, we initially need a base of altcoins. For this purpose, the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization are selected, excluding stable cryptocurrencies (“stablecoins”) and excluding Bitcoin.
Index thresholds
If 75% of altcoins or more show yields greater than Bitcoin as a percentage over the past 90 days, then it is considered an “Altcoin season”.
If 25% of altcoins or less show a yield lower than Bitcoin as a percentage over the past 90 days, then it is considered a “Bitcoin season”.
When the number of cryptocurrencies that are more profitable than Bitcoin is more than 25% and less than 75%, then it is considered that there is no season now.
